Dick Meader, the long-time head coach at both Maine-Farmington and Thomas College has passed away at the age of 76.
Meader was the head coach at Thomas from 1971-1988, then moved on to UMF where he coached until he retired in 2020. In his 44 seasons as a head coach, Meader won 513 games. He also coached baseball at Thomas for two seasons, and at UMF for 17 years.
Meader was inducted into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame, Maine Basketball Hall of Fame and the New England Basketball Hall of Fame. He is also in the Hall of Fame at both Thomas and Maine Farmington.
