Two members of the Villanova Basketball Family will take on new roles in changes to the men’s basketball staff announced today. Baker Dunleavy, a 2006 Villanova graduate, has been named associate head coach and Kyle Neptune, who served as the Wildcats’ video coordinator from 2008-10, is returning to the staff as an assistant coach.

Dunleavy, who joined the Wildcats’ coaching staff in 2010, assumes the duties of associate head coach.

"Baker was one of the leaders of our 2006 Big East championship team and he’s developed into an outstanding coach," says Wright. "Baker has a great understanding of what it takes to succeed at this level and an instinctive feel for this program’s core values. He serves as a great example of what a successful Villanova Basketball player can become."

Neptune, a 2007 graduate of Lehigh, served two seasons as the Wildcats’ video coordinator and was a member of the the school’s 2009 Final Four staff. The native of Brooklyn, N.Y., was named an assistant coach at Niagara University in 2010 and moved to a similar position at Hofstra University earlier this year when former Purple Eagles mentor Joe Mihalich became the head coach of the Pride.

"Kyle is a great addition to this staff," stated Wright. "During his time at Villanova, Kyle demonstrated all the qualities you want to see in a young coach – commitment, passion, and the ability to communicate with young people. Over the past three years he learned from one of our game’s accomplished teachers, Joe Mihalich, and he returns to us as a well-rounded and seasoned young coach. We’re thrilled to have him back."
