Recent Eastern Nazarene College graduate Jacob Waldroop has returned to serve as an assistant coach with the Eastern Nazarene Colleg men’s basketball team on head coach Scott Polsgrove‘s staff.
A three-year starter for the Lions, he averaged 8.6 points and 3.6 assists per game. The Newland, North Carolina native helped Eastern Nazarene to back-to-back New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Tournament semifinal appearances.
Along with his prowess on the hardwood, Waldroop excelled on the links for the Eastern Nazarene men’s golf team. He finished his three-year career with an 81.5 scoring average and collected All-New England Collegiate Conference first team honors as a junior.
“As a player, Jacob was an extremely hard worker and had a very high basketball IQ. Both of those attributes will serve him well as he transitions from being a player to coaching. His passion for the game and desire to serve those that he works with will make him a great addition to our staff,” commented Polsgrove.
Waldroop graduated from ENC in May with a degree in Sports Management and was a three-time Academic All-Conference selection.
