Talladega College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Chris Wright announced that Tim Ward has been promoted to Associate Head Coach.
“I am excited to elevate Coach Ward’s title to Associate Head Coach,” said Coach Wright. “He has made immediate impact on our program since day one. I am extremely thankful for his hard work, dedication, and loyalty. He is a tremendous recruiter, a very good basketball coach, and a great person. There is no doubt that he is one of the best assistant coaches in the country and we are very fortunate to have him as a part of our family.”
Ward recently finished his first season in Talladega as he helped the Tornadoes win 25 games along with a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship. Talladega was ranked as high as ninth in the nation and advanced to the Second Round of the NAIA National Tournament before falling to Loyola University New Orleans.
“I want to thank Coach Wright for the opportunity to serve on his staff this season,” said Coach Ward. “I have truly fallen in love with Talladega College and the entire community here. Coach Wright has pushed me to become a better coach and leader. I am honored by this promotion.”
Talladega College has qualified for three straight NAIA National Tournaments under Head Coach Chris Wright and have gone a combined 74-19 during that time. The Tornadoes bring back ten returners and move to the Southern States Conference next season.
