Washington College head men’s basketball coach Rob Nugent has announced the hiring of Dale Becraft as an assistant coach for the Shoremen. This will be Becraft’s second stint with the Shoremen as he served as an assistant coach under Nugent during the 2006-07 season.
Becraft spent the last six years as the head boys’ basketball coach at nearby Queen Anne’s County High School in Centreville, MD. Prior to his first stint with the Shoremen, Becraft’s coaching jobs included serving as the head men’s basketball coach at Chesapeake College, an assistant men’s basketball coach at the College of Southern Maryland, and the head boys’ basketball coach at prep school power Southern Maryland Christian. Becraft also served as the head coach at several Maryland and Virginia high schools.
Becraft graduated from Randolph-Macon College in 1973 with a B.A. in Psychology.
