Robert Washington Jr. has been named as the interim head coach at Grambling State. He was an assistant in the program, and will replace Rick Duckett who is now claiming that he was fired. Originally, the University said that Duckett resigned following the death of one of his players during a conditioning session last month. Duckett is now refuting that, saying he was surprised last Friday when he was given a letter informing him that he was being relieved of his duties. Assistant coaches Steve Portland and Phillip Stitt were also not retained. Not a great situation for Washington to be jumping into, but we wish him the best.
