The University of Memphis will hold a press conference today at 1:00pm ET where they introduce Tubby Smith as the Tigers new head basketball coach. The live link can be found here: Memphis Press Conference.

This past season, Smith led Texas Tech to a 19-13 record, and earned the Big 12 Coach of the Year and Sporting News National Coach of the Year awards.  In addition to his stint at TTU, Smith has been the head coach at Tulsa, Georgia, Kentucky, and Minnesota and has a career record of 557-276 in his 25-seasons.  He won the 1998 NCAA National Championship while at Kentucky.

Smith will replace Josh Pastner who became the head coach at Georgia Tech earlier this month.
