Wayne State College Director of Athletics Mike Powicki announced today that Brian Dolan has been selected as the new head men’s basketball coach at Wayne State College. He will become the school’s 26th head coach in the 99-year history of the program. A formal press conference to introduce Dolan as the new Wildcat head coach will be held next week with details forthcoming.
Dolan comes to Wayne State after spending the last seven seasons at Upper Iowa University. He helped transition a program that went from NCAA Division III to NCAA Division II and the Northern Sun Conference. Dolan went 3-25 in his first season with the Peacocks and helped build the program to a 20-12 record this past season and a berth in the NCAA Division II National Tournament, the schools’ first-ever trip to NCAA Division II post-season play.
