Weidner, Halstead elevated to associate head coaches at Grace College

A pair of long-time assistant coaches for Grace’s men’s basketball team received promotions in August.

Jordan Weidner and Stephen Halstead have been promoted to associate head coaches, effective for the 2024-25 season.

“This has been a long time coming. Both Stephen and Jordan have been vital to our program over the past several seasons,” said Grace men’s basketball head coach Scott Moore. “Their impact goes well beyond the success on the court. They are mentors and great leaders of men, and I am honored to share the title of ‘Coach’ with both of them.”

The pair have assisted the Lancers during one of their greatest five-year stretches in program history. Grace has gone 131-39 (.771 winning percentage) since 2019, increasing in wins every season.

Grace was ranked No. 1 in the NAIA for much of the past season, advancing to the NAIA Fab Four and finishing with a sterling 34-2 record.

Additionally, Grace has enjoyed great success in the Crossroads League, considered to be one of the premier basketball conferences in the NAIA. Grace has won the past two regular season titles and three straight postseason tournament championships.
