Trajan Wesley has been hired as an assistant basketball coach, and Duncan Bacon has been added as the director of basketball operations at Stephen F. Austin.
Trajan Wesley begins his first season with the Lumberjacks after spending last season with Head Coach Matt Braeuer at Texas Tech University. Wesley has spent the last two seasons with the Red Raiders basketball program serving in a graduate assistant role.
A Navasota, Texas native, Wesley played four seasons at Louisiana from 2018-22 before finishing his collegiate career at Prairie View A&M during the 2022-23 season. He would play in 94 games during his collegiate career.
Prior to his collegiate playing days, Wesley prepped at Cypress Falls High School where he was Class 6A All-State selection and helped lead his team to the Class 6A State Championship in 2017 during his junior year.
Wesley earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Louisiana in 2022 and earned his master’s degree from Texas Tech in Interdisciplinary Studies this year.
Duncan Bacon enters his first season with the Lumberjacks basketball program after spending last season with newly hired Head Coach Matt Braeuer at Texas Tech University. Bacon served as a graduate assistant last season for the Red Raiders.
Bacon spent the 2023-24 season at Harding University where he served as a graduate assistant for the Bisons and helped lead the Bisons to their first Great American Conference (GAC) tournament appearance since the 2016-17 season.
Prior to his time with Texas Tech and Harding, Bacon attended Abilene Christian University where he spent four seasons as a student assistant for the ACU Wildcats basketball program. During his time with ACU, Bacon played a role in helping the Wildcats to three 20-win seasons, a Southland Conference Championship in 2021, and an 53-52 NCAA Tournament victory over three seeded Texas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2021.
Bacon earned first team all-district honors while playing at Abilene Wylie High School and helped Wylie reach the regional finals. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 2022 from ACU and his master’s degree from Texas Tech’s Sports Management Program this year.
