Nicholas Woodruff has been named as West Alabama’s assistant men’s basketball coach in an announcement by head coach Allen Sharpe.
Woodruff comes to UWA from the University of Arkansas-Monticello where he spent five seasons as the assistant coach under Sharpe. During his time there the Boll Weevils made five straight Great American Conference appearances while posting the program’s eighth 20(+) win season and defeating nationally ranked No.1 Arkansas Tech in the 2009-10 season.
Woodruff also served as the recruitment coordinator, recruiting the 2012-13 GAC Player of the year, three conference scoring leaders, six All-Conference first team selections and two second team picks.
He graduated Cum Laude in Business from Muskingum College (Ohio) in 2009 where he lettered four seasons on the men’s basketball team, before earning his Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock in 2011.
A native of Oxford, Ohio, Woodruff and his wife, Kristen, now reside in Livingston.
