Westfield State University head basketball coach Rich Sutter has added Nate Martins, Robbie Burke, and Wesley Jackson to his staff for the 2017-18 season.
Martins, who will serve as the associate head coach, had most recently been the head coach at Rockville High School (CT). He has also worked with the South End Community Center All-Stars (AAU) since 2000. Additionally, Martins spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Elms College (MA), and has worked at Northampton High School, East Longmeadow High School, and Westfield High School.
Burke is a 2014 graduate of Springfield College where he served as a captain his senior season. He helped lead Springfield to back-to-back appearances in the NEWMAC Championship and the NCAA Tournament in 2013 and 2014. Burke was named to the NEWMAC’s First-Team All Conference following his final season with the Pride. He is also a member of the New England Basketball Hall of Fame.
Jackson spent last season as the head coach of the Commonwealth Academy (MA) Regional Team. He also spent two seasons as the head coach at Dean Tech, and like Martins, has been with the SECC All-Stars since 2000.
