Wheaton College men’s basketball coach Mike Schauer has announced the hiring of Tony Bollier as the full-time assistant coach for the Thunder men’s basketball team. He replaces Owen Handy, who accepted the head coaching position at Anderson University last month.

Bollier is a 2006 graduate of Wheaton College, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. He was a four-year letterwinner for the Thunder, earning All-CCIW honors and All-Midwest Region recognition from D3hoops.com in his senior season of 2005-06. During that campaign, Bollier shot 92.9% (104-112) at the free throw line to set Wheaton’s single-season record and lead Division III in free throw percentage on the year.

Bollier returns to his alma mater from Georgia State University after serving as the Panthers’ Director of Basketball Operations for the past year, as the squad posted a 22-12 record. Prior to his stint at Georgia State, Bollier spent four years at the National Basketball Association (NBA). In his time with the NBA he served one year as Basketball Operations Coordinator after three seasons as a Basketball Operations Assistant for the league.
