Wofford expected to hire Virginia Tech’s Giltner as new Head Basketball Coach

According to multiple reports, Wofford is expected to hire Virginia Tech assistant (and Wofford alum) Kevin Giltner as their new head basketball coach.

Giltner would replace Dwight Perry, who was fired last week along with associate head coach Tysor Anderson following an investigation into alleged improper benefits to some Wofford Men’s Basketball players. According to CBSSports.com, “the purported activity, according to sources, included players living in off-campus housing and then triggering improper benefits by using meal cards that are only supposed to be used by on-campus students.”

Giltner has been a member of Mike Young’s staff at Virginia Tech since 2019, after spending the previous six seasons alongside Young at Wofford.

More on this after it becomes official on Monday.
