Wofford head men’s basketball coach Jay McAuley had resigned. McAuley took a “leave of absence” back on 12/5, and had not been with the team since then. Wofford released the following brief statement:
Jay McAuley has stepped down as head coach of the Wofford men’s basketball program. McAuley was an assistant coach for the Terriers from 2008-2010, returned as associate head coach of the Terriers from 2017-19, and took over as head coach in April 2019.
Wofford basketball is thankful for his service and leadership, and we wish he and his family well in future endeavors.
McAuley went 58-42 (.580) in his 3+ seasons with the Terriers.
Associate head coach Dwight Perry will continue to serve as the interim head coach through the remainder of the 2022-23 season.
