WPU goes co-ed, hires MBB coach

William Peace University is in the process of going co-ed and has formally announced the hiring of Claude Shields as the the first men’s basketball coach in school history. Shields will also have responsibilities as the men’s golf coach. Shields was a JV player at North Carolina, and spent time recently as an assistant at Guilford College. The men’s teams are expected to begin play in 2012.
