Wright-Hardie tabbed as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Southwestern CC

Dominique Wright-Hardie, former college teammate of Southwestern Head Men’s Basketball Coach Devin Kastrup, will soon be by his side again. Wright-Hardie has been hired as an assistant coach for Southwestern’s men’s basketball program.

Wright-Hardie will head to Iowa from Colorado this week and start his position immediately. Kastrup and Wright-Hardie played together at Western Colorado University in Gunnison, CO, but Wright-Hardie is no stranger to Iowa. He was a member of the North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) basketball team in Mason City prior to transferring to Western Colorado University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business management with a minor in exercise sports science.

Kastrup is eager to bring Wright-Hardie on staff at Southwestern.

“Dom’s familiarity with myself, his experience in the league, and his engaging personality will be valuable assets both on- and off-the-floor,” Kastrup stated. “With those characteristics, he will be a natural with recruiting as well.”

The Southwestern Spartans look to start their 2019-20 run in early-November.
