Wright State adds Bales as Men’s Basketball Video Coordinator

Wright State head men’s basketball coach Clint Sargent announced Friday the addition of Isaiah Bales as a video coordinator for the Raiders.

“I’m very excited about Isaiah taking on more responsibility within our program. His experience as a former student manager gives him valuable insight and strengthens the continuity of our staff,” Sargent said. “His character, work ethic and basketball mind are all areas that will help grow the program.”

No stranger to the program, Bales served as a student assistant on the Raider staff in each of the past two seasons. In addition to his responsibilities at Wright State, Bales trains current NBA free agent Luke Kennard in the offseason.

A three-time Southwestern Buckeye League champion at Franklin High School, Bales was twice named a SWBL all-league honoree and in 2022 he finished sixth in the state of Ohio with a 48.4 percent three-point percentage. He played at Franklin under her dad, current Springboro head coach Brian Bales.

Over the last nine seasons, the Raiders have won a combined five Horizon League championships between regular season and tournament titles, including trips to the NCAA Tournament in 2018 and 2022. Wright State has had 28 all-Horizon League performers between all-conference, all-defensive and newcomer teams since 2016, while the Raiders have also achieved in the classroom, with 11 Horizon League all-academic team recognitions over the same stretch.
