With the Broncos’ 69-56 defeat of Chico State on Saturday night, Cal Poly Pomona head coach Greg Kamansky earned career win No. 330 to become the Broncos’ men’s basketball all-time leader in victories.
Kamansky passes Bob Stull to move into sole possession of the No. 1 spot on that list. The win also marks the team’s 14th of the season. So far in 2015-16, CPP has amassed a stellar 14-1 record, complete with a 7-1 mark in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).
Here are some of the highlight’s of Kamansky’s tenure at CPP:
• Won the 2010 NCAA title
• Played in consecutive NCAA Championship games
• Nine NCAA Tournament berths
• Four Elite Eight appearances
• Four NCAA West Region titles
• More NCAA Elite Eight appearances (four) in the last 10 years than any other program in the country
• 20 NCAA tournament victories
• Four California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) regular-season titles
• The highest winning percentage in program history
• Nine 20-win seasons
• Coached four All-Americans (Jeff Bonds, Larry Gordon, Mitchel Anderson, Terrence Drisdom)
• Coached the 2010 NCAA Division II Elite Eight Most Outstanding Player (Austin Swift)
• Named the 2010 National Coach of the Year (NABC and Division II Bulletin)
• Four-time CCAA Coach of the Year
• Three-time NABC West Region Coach of the Year (2008-09, 2009-10 and 2012-13)
