Anoka-Ramsey Community College has announced the hiring of Travis Bledsoe as Head Men’s Basketball Coach, following the retirement of previous head coach Ron Larson.
Bledsoe comes to Anoka-Ramsey after leading Minnesota high school powerhouse DeLaSalle for the past five seasons.
In Bledsoe’s time as head coach of the Islanders, DeLaSalle won five section championships resulting in five state tournament appearances and a Minnesota State High School League State Championship in the 2019-2020 season.
The Islanders also finished as state runner-up in 2021-2022, along with a third place finish in 2018-2019.
DeLaSalle won at least 23 games in each of the last three seasons.
Bledsoe coached six players who went on to NCAA Division I schools including Tyrell Terry who attended Stanford before being drafted by the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.
“We are extremely happy to have Travis join the ARCC family,” said Steve Crittenden, Anoka-Ramsey Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs. “Travis is an exceptional coach who has achieved many accomplishments as a player and coach. I cannot think of a better person to lead our Men’s Basketball program and help our student-athletes achieve success both on and off the court.”
Bledsoe graduated high school from DeLaSalle, and earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota where he excelled as a basketball player scoring 1,130 points in his four seasons. Bledsoe currently ranks 2nd in UND history in 3-point field goal percentage (.438), and 6th in 3-point field goals made (184).
