D2 DIRT: Boone to step away at Arkansas – Fort Smith

Story: Adam Nelson (@HD_DirtKing)

I can now confirm through multiple sources that Jim Boone is no longer the head men’s basketball coach at D2 Arkansas-Fort Smith.

Boone, a 600-game winner has been a head coach for 37-seasons at seven different colleges (at both the D1 and D2 levels). The coaching veteran had spent the past four seasons at UAFS, where he went 44-56 (.440). During his career, Boone’s teams have won eight conference championships, five tournament titles and have made 12 postseason NCAA appearances. His career mark stands at 602-468-1 (.563).

An official announcement by UAFS is expected within the next few days.
