Been hearing this for a few days – it now seems like it’s a done deal. Reports, including one from Tarek Fattal of the L.A. Daily News, are now surfacing that Trent Johnson is no longer the head men’s basketball at Cal State Northridge.
Johnson has gone 14-48 (.226) in two seasons since taking over for Mark Gottfried. He served as the interim head coach in 2021-22, before having the interim tag removed prior to this past season.
He has also been the head coach at LSU, Stanford, Nevada, and TCU, and owns a 290-313 (.481) career mark. CSUN has had back-to-back 7-win seasons.
More on this one once it becomes official.
