Boston University director of athletics Drew Marrochello has announced that Head Men’s Basketball Coach Joe Jones has recently signed multi-year contract extension.
Jones has accumulated 218 wins over 13 seasons at the helm of the BU men’s basketball program while leading the Terriers to five postseason berths. He guided BU to the 2020 Patriot League tournament title and the 2013-14 regular season crown and his teams have finished in the top four of the conference standings nine times. Jones’ win total is second in program history, and his 111 conference victory rank fifth all-time in PL history. Overall, 40 Terriers have earned All-Conference accolades during his tenure.
“I’m deeply honored by the continued trust placed in me and the staff by Drew Marrochello and the senior administration to work with a special group of young men,” said Jones. “I’m incredibly proud of the way they have represented Boston University both on and off the court. It’s been a pleasure to not only interact with them but also with an incredible campus community. Opportunities like this happen when you work with great people, and my staff has played a big part in our success. We are all very excited to get the new season underway and compete for another Patriot League championship.”
The Terriers open their season on Monday November 4th at home vs crosstown rival Northeastern at 7:30.
