Two D3’s have opened with no official announcements made yet:
McMurry University (TX): I can confirm that Zach Pickelman is no longer the head men’s basketball coach at McMurry. Pickleman had spent the past ten seasons as the War Hawks head coach, compiling a 77-168 (.314) mark. This past season, McM went 9-16 (7-6) SCAC.
Baruch College (NY): Long-time head coach John Alesi is out according to Hoopsville’s Dave McHugh. Alesi, who just wrapped up his 13th season with the Bearcats, served as the national chair of the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Committee this past season. During his time as the head coach at his alma mater, Alesi went 221-116 (.656). He also served as the head coach at nearby Hunter College, and as a D1 assistant at Pitt, Manhattan, and Hofstra.
