Filzen steps down as Head Basketball Coach at D3 Bethel University

Bethel University has announced a coaching transition will take place in men’s basketball. The university thanks Zach Filzen for his contributions and dedication to the program. A national search for a replacement will begin immediately.

We’re grateful for Coach Filzen’s contributions over the past four years,” said Director of Athletics Greg Peterson. “His leadership has meant a great deal to our program and student-athletes.”

“It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to step down as the head men’s basketball coach at Bethel University,” said Filzen. “I feel that it is in the best interest of my family, myself and the program that I step away. I am thankful for the opportunity Bethel has afforded me and I am thankful for the student-athletes that I have been blessed to coach. The men in this program are very special and I am excited to see them flourish in the future. I look forward to what the Lord has in my future.”
