Davis & Elkins College Men’s Basketball is pleased to announce the hiring of Craig Ford as an assistant coach for the 2025–26 season. Ford brings a proven track record of winning, player development, and program-building success at both the high school and junior college levels.
Ford joins the Senators after two standout seasons as the Assistant Coach at Macomb Community College, where he helped guide the program to a remarkable 61-10 overall record. During his time at Macomb, the program made consecutive national tournament appearances, finishing 7th in 2023–24 and 5th in 2024–25. The team earned MCCAA East Division and NJCAA Region 12 championships both seasons, while also capturing the 2023 MCCAA State Title.
Macomb set multiple program records during Ford’s tenure, including most wins in a season (31 in 2023–24) and the first back-to-back 30-win seasons in school history. He was instrumental in developing top talent, coaching two NJCAA All-Americans, multiple All-MCCAA honorees, and placing 11 of 12 sophomores at four-year institutions, including four at the Division I level.
Before his success at the collegiate level, Ford turned heads in the high school ranks at Trillium Academy (2019–2023). After three seasons as an assistant, he was promoted to interim head coach in 2022–23, leading Trillium to a school-record 21-4 season, earning AP Division 4 Coach of the Year honors. During his four-year span at Trillium, Ford compiled a 65-14 overall record, won back-to-back MMAC Conference Championships, and captured district titles in both 2022 and 2023. His 2023 team advanced to the regional title and finished 8th in the MHSAA Division 4 state rankings. Ford also coached the AP Division 4 Player of the Year, Damaryon Fishburn.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Ford to our program,” said Head Coach Daniel Harris. “Coach Ford is a tireless worker, a proven winner, and someone who understands how to connect with and develop student-athletes. His experience at both the high school and college levels, along with his success in recruiting and player development, make him a perfect fit for what we’re building here at Davis & Elkins College.”
