Isiah “Zay” Jennings has joined Perkiomen as Head Coach for the Boys Prep Basketball Team and Assistant Coach for the National Basketball Team. Coach Jennings brings a strong foundation in collegiate athletics, leadership, and player development.
A native of the Lehigh Valley, Coach Jennings attended The Swain School (now Moravian Academy – Swain Campus) and Allentown Catholic. In high school, he was a two-time Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and two-time Morning Call All Area First Team member with 1,426 points scored.
As an NCAA Division II guard, Coach Jennings was known for his elite perimeter shooting, efficiency, and strong basketball IQ. Across his collegiate career at Caldwell University and Le Moyne College, he scored 950 points and made 176 three-pointers, consistently ranking among conference leaders in long-range shooting.
Jennings joins Perkiomen following his tenure as a Volunteer Assistant Coach and Admissions Counselor at DeSales University. Previously, Coach Jennings held key positions as Director of Basketball Operations at Lehigh University and Graduate Assistant Coach at Wheeling University, where he gained extensive experience in player development, academic monitoring, and program management.
“I chose to come to Perkiomen because it is a great opportunity for me to grow as a coach,” shared Coach Jennings. “Perkiomen is a place that values student athlete growth in academics, athletics and relationship building. I see it as a place where I can contribute to developing young student-athletes and support them in reaching their full potential both on and off the court.”
At Caldwell University and Le Moyne College, Coach Jennings distinguished himself through his work ethic, teamwork, and academic achievement, earning recognition on the Dean’s List and the Northeast-10 Student-Athlete Honor Roll. He holds a bachelor of business administration in management and leadership from Le Moyne College and recently completed a master’s in educational leadership at Lehigh University.
Coach Jennings was a premier player in the Lehigh Valley, and his presence brings us even more of a connection to an area where there is a lot of basketball talent. He is a great fit for our school culture, and our competitive basketball culture. It was immediately apparent that he values education and the development of student-athletes.
