According to a report from Liv Antilla, Patrick Gayle is out as the head men’s basketball coach at as the head basketball coach at D2 Albany State (GA).

Gayle spent the last eight seasons leading the Golden Rams (91-126 – .419), highlighted by a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference East Division Championship and conference tournament runner-up finish in 2020; Albany State finished 12–17 (11–13 SIAC) during the 2024–25 season.

Prior to Albany State, Gayle compiled a 125–51 record in six seasons as the head coach at St. Thomas University, where he captured two Sun Conference regular-season titles, made back-to-back NAIA Sweet 16 appearances, and earned Sun Conference Coach of the Year honors twice.
