Just wanted to blast out a few quick things before business starts to pick up this afternoon…
With John Shulman inking a contract extension at Central Arkansas, the Tennessee Tech search looks a lot different now. It sounds like Shulman was one of three in the final group. The others I’ve heard are South Florida Special Assistant to the Head Coach Tobin Anderson, and one more sitting head coach from the south. Also, with Shulman out, this could put Wofford assistant Jeremiah Samarrippas in play.
It sounds like the search at Tarleton is winding down, with an announcement coming very shortly. A name that I’ve been told to keep an eye on is Utah State associate head coach Eric Haut. Haut has been at Utah State for the past two seasons, and had previously worked at Northern Kentucky and Kent State.

I mentioned the search at ULM in yesterday’s DIRT. It now sounds like Angelo State head coach Vinay Patel needs to be added to the list here. He has spent the past four seasons at ASU, and has also been the head coach at Northwest Oklahoma and Oklahoma City.
The search at D2 AIC is underway. I’ve heard from multiple people that Zoom interviews are starting at the end of this week with at least 5 expected to be interviewed. An interesting name that I’ve heard here is former Bryant head coach Jared Grasso. He has spent the past two years coaching at The Knox School (NY) after serving as the head coach at Bryant from 2018-23.
