I can confirm that Matt Capell is no longer the head basketball coach at D2 St. Thomas Aquinas and will become an assistant on Tobin Anderson’s new staff at Tennessee Tech.
Capell had served as an assistant to Anderson at STAC, and took over when Anderson departed for FDU back in 2022. In four seasons as the Spartans head coach, Cappell went 93-33 (.738). Prior to taking over as the head coach, he spent six seasons at STAC as an assistant. He also worked for Anderson at D3 Clarkson.
