Story: Adam Nelson (@HD_DirtKing)
I have heard from multiple sources that D3 Christopher Newport head coach John Krikorian is on the move and will become an assistant at Elon.
Krikorian is coming off a Division III Final Four run this past season (25-6) and wraps up an incredible 15-year run at CNU that included a 362-84 (.812) record and the 2023 National Championship.
During his tenure, the Captains made 12 NCAA Tournament appearances, including each of the last 10. CNU is the only program in the country to win at least one game in each of the past 10 NCAA Tournaments. Krikorian owns a 31-11 career mark in NCAA Tournament play (30-10 at CNU, 1-1 at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy).
Prior to his time at CNU, Krikorian spent four seasons (2006-10) as the head coach at Merchant Marine where he went 65-42 (.607).
Krikorian would become the second D3 head coach in the past two days to head to the D1 level, as Delaware Valley’s Muhamadou Kaba is reportedly headed to Lafayette. More on that one here -> D3 DIRT.
Will have more on the Krikorian move once it’s official.
