In a move focused on family, Chattanooga men’s basketball associate head coach Scott Greenman has decided to step away from his role and depart the program after spending the past four seasons under head coach Dan Earl.
Statement from Scott Greenman
“After 19 years in collegiate coaching, I’ve decided to step away from my role to prioritize my family. Right now, the demands of the profession have made it increasingly difficult to be present at home, as a father and husband, the way I would like to be. I’m deeply grateful for the last four years at Chattanooga. The community, fans, administration, players, and coaches have made this experience truly special. The journey to an NIT Championship, SoCon regular season title, and a school record 29 wins in 2025 will always be a highlight in my life. Thank you to Coach Earl for entrusting me to be a part of this program and helping continue its great tradition. He’s an elite coach and the program is in great hands. I step away on the best of terms and will forever be a Chattanooga Moc!”
Greenman, a Richland, N.J., native, will depart the industry following a 19-year collegiate coaching career that included stops at his alma mater Princeton (2007-10), Georgetown (2010-13), and American (2013-22) before his four-year Chattanooga (2022-26) stint. Greenman arrived as an assistant coach on Earl’s inaugural UTC staff ahead of the 2022-23 season before earning elevation to associate head coach ahead of the most recent 2025-26 campaign.
Greenman was key in helping build the UTC program towards its National Invitation Tournament (NIT) championship, Southern Conference regular season title, and school record 29 victories during the 2024-25 season. Greenman played collegiately at Princeton from 2002-06 for former Georgetown head coach John Thompson III and earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from in June 2006.
He currently resides in North Chattanooga with his wife Caitlin and their three sons, Jordan, Brayden, and Eli.
