The Hanover College men’s basketball program has announced the hiring of Trey Shabazz as an assistant coach for the upcoming season.

Shabazz joins the Panthers after serving as an assistant coach at Holy Cross College, where he has worked since 2024. In his role with the Saints, he handled recruiting responsibilities, coordinated travel and team logistics, specialized in post-player development, and assisted with scouting report preparation.

Prior to his time at Holy Cross, Shabazz spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Tiffin University while earning his MBA with a concentration in sports management. During his tenure with the Dragons, he played a significant role in recruiting and player development. He also served as head coach of the junior varsity program.

A former collegiate player at Holy Cross College, Shabazz was part of back-to-back NAIA National Tournament teams. His playing and coaching experiences have helped shape his passion for mentoring student-athletes both on and off the court.
