Pittsburg State University head men’s basketball coach Jeff Boschee announced that Blake Chadwick has been hired as an assistant coach on the Gorillas’ staff.
“I’m excited to add Blake to our coaching staff,” Boschee said. “He comes in high regards from coaches he played and worked for in the past. He brings a ton of energy and a great work ethic that will complement our coaching staff! Losing Avery Taggart and Blake Rogers from our staff, it was import for me to find someone to match what they did for our program; and I believe we found that with Blake!”
Chadwick comes to Pitt State after serving as a graduate assistant the past two seasons at MIAA rival Newman University in Wichita. Prior to beginning his coaching career at Newman, Chadwick played collegiately at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kan. He started all 29 games for the Spires as a senior in 2023-24, contributing 4.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. He helped USM post 18 wins and reach the semifinals of the KCAC Postseason Tournament.
The Derby, Kan., native earned a bachelor of arts degree in communications from Saint Mary in 2024 and he completed his masters in business administration (MBA) degree from Newman in May.
