Elms College Athletic Director Rob Southall announced that Sean Tabb will be named as the College’s new Head Men’s Basketball Coach.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sean Tabb to Elms College as our new head men’s basketball coach,” said Southall. “Sean brings an impressive level of experience and a proven track record of success from his time at Trinity College, Brown University, and Brandeis University. His knowledge of the game, commitment to developing student-athletes, and experience competing at a high level make him an excellent addition to our department. We are excited about the leadership, energy, and vision Sean will bring to Elms College basketball”.
When asked about joining the Elms staff, Tabb said that “I am extremely excited for the opportunity to serve as the next Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Elms College. As someone born and raised in the Western Massachusetts area, Elms College has been a transformative institution I have admired greatly. I would like to thank Athletic Director Rob Southall, Vice President Andrew Coston, President Dr. Harry Dumay and the entire search committee for this meaningful opportunity. I am eager to connect with our players and to collectively build on last season’s successes. I believe strongly in the values and mission of Elms College and couldn’t be more excited to now be a part of this community”.
Prior to joining Elms, Tabb served as the Head Coach of the Boys’ Basketball team at Middlesex School. Previously, Tabb has served as an Assistant Coach for Brandeis University and Brown University, and as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Trinity College from 2009 until 2011, posting a record of 19-29.
Tabb would graduate from the University of Hartford in 1998 with a Bachelors’ Degree in Education and would later earn a Graduate Degree in Sports Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Athletically, Tabb would play three seasons at Hartford at the Division I level as a guard, playing in 46 games for the Hawks. He would then play his final season at Quinnipiac University.
