D3 Caltech will name Army assistant Brian Joel as their new head men’s basketball coach.

Joel, a Caltech alum, had been on the Army staff since 2024. Prior to that, he spent nine seasons as an assistant at D3 University of Chicago.

He will replace Doc Eslinger who became the associate head coach at Brown last month.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
