Brandon Pritzl has joined the Ohio men’s basketball coaching staff as a graduate assistant, as announced by first-year head coach Saul Phillips on Wednesday (Oct. 1).
A four-year letterwinner, Pritzl helped lead the Chargers to the four winningest years of basketball in Hillsdale College – including a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title and NCAA Division II Championship appearance in 2011-12. The DePere, Wis. native served as team captain in 2013-14 and garnered GLIAC All-Defensive Team selection in ’11-12 and ’13-14. Pritzl averaged 10.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists as a senior after averaging 11.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists as a junior.
Pritzl graduated from Hillsdale College in 2014 with a sports management degree and a minor in psychology.
The son of Brian and Kathi, Prizl graduated from DePere High School in 2010, where he earned four varsity letters in basketball and three in football.
The Bobcats enter a new era in 2014-15 under Phillips, who led North Dakota State University to 26 wins and a berth in the NCAA Championship last season. NDSU’s run was highlighted by the No. 12-seeded Bison knocking off No. 5-seeded Oklahoma in the Second Round. Ohio is coming off a 25-17 campaign in 2013-14 in which it reached the 20-win plateau for the third-straight season, tied for the second-most wins in program history and posted two victories in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament in the program’s fifth-consecutive postseason appearance.
