Campbell Basketball Coaches Clinic – 10/18/14

Campbell University Head Coach Kevin McGeehan will host his annual Coaches Clinic on Saturday October 18th, 2014. This year’s clinic will focus on Coach McGeehan’s Princeton Style offense, The Spread Motion Attack. Learn how the Princeton Offense has evolved today utilizing Triangle Offense Movements and Dribble Drive Motion Principles.

Register for this Clinic Today at www.CamelBasketballCamps.com (http://www.camelbasketballcamps.com/…). The cost is $95 for the 1st staff member and $50 for each additional Assistant Coach.

In essence, the Spread Motion Attack utilizes the Princeton Style with today’s athletic basketball players. During legendary Head Coach Pete Carril’s time at Princeton, his offense was designed to allow slower less athletic skilled players compete against the more athletic powerhouse programs in the country. The offense utilized space, screening, and counters to effectively get wide open baskets for his players. His record speaks for itself. When Pete Carril joined the Sacramento Kings in the 2000s, the offense was introduced to the NBA and was utilized beautifully with great passing bigs like Chris Webber, Vlade Divac, and Brad Miller, and sharp shooting perimeter players like Peja Stojakavic, Hedo Turkolu, and Mike Bibby to the tune of 60 win seasons. Sacramento Assistant Coach Eddie Jordan then moved on to the NJ Nets as Offensive Coordinator and Lead Assistant and took the Princeton Style offense to back to back NBA Finals, this time with a great passing Point Guard in Jason Kidd. Now most every NBA team utilizes concepts of the offense.

This Clinic is a great opportunity to learn the foundation of the offense. Creating Space off the ball, using on balls and handoffs, and how to get wide open layups and wide open 3 point shots. You will be able to immediately implement effective offensive plays and concepts that will have success this upcoming season. We also will touch on:

· The Match Up Zone Defense – Both Princeton and Temple Styles

· How to Effectively Use Statistics to Measure Efficiency

· Easy Dribbling Passing and Shooting Drills that carry directly over to improved skill in games
