Catching-up on a bunch of things…
• I have heard from a great source that Ronnie Dean will be hired as an assistant at Jacksonville State. He has been an assistant at Southeast Missouri, Jacksonville, Montana, Long Beach State, and Cal State Fullerton. Look for the official announcement any day.
• It sounds like North Florida DBO Ian Gibson has been named as an assistant at Daytona State. Gibson is a UNF alum who had been on the staff for the past two seasons. He was also a GA at VCU during their 2011 Final Four run.
• Word on the street is that Delaware will add Coast Guard assistant Chris Vincent as their new video coordinator. He will replace Mitch Smucker who left to become the DBO at Dartmouth a few weeks ago.
• I have heard that former Tennessee-Chattanooga manager Jared Hawkins has been added as a GA at the University of North Georgia. Hawkins, who graduated form UTC this past spring, worked for both John Shulman and Will Wade.
• I have heard that Chipola College (FL) assistant Robert Amis will become an assistant at Navarro (TX). The former Marshall GA has also been an assistant at Trinity Valley CC.
• Elms College (MA) assistant Dylan Auman has departed and will become an assistant women’s coach at Johnson and Wales (Charlotte). This will be JWU’s first season as a varsity sport. Auman is an Asheville, NC native who attended UNCA.
