I have officially turned into an old guy. Headed out to see Billy Joel at Fenway Park tonight. UGH. Here are a few things that I’ve heard…

• Following up on my Temple “dirt” from last night (http://www.hoopdirt.com/blog/9b393f79/temple-dirt/…)…I have now heard that Rick Brunson will assume the assistant role, while current assistant Dave Duke will be shifted to the player development position. Duke has been at Temple for the past eight seasons. He also spent eight seasons working for current Temple coach Fran Dunphy while they were at Penn. Like I mentioned last night, this announcement could be made as early as today.

• I have heard that John Jay College (NY) has made their choice. From what I have heard, it sounds like Catholic assistant Ryan Hyland is the pick here. He is a New York City native who has been on the Catholic staff since his graduation in 2011. I believe he will be one of the youngest (if not THE youngest) head coach in the country next year.

• Multiple people have told me that former Rutgers and Siena assistant Craig Carter has joined the staff at the Fishburne Military School. Carter worked for both Fran McCaffrey and Mitch Buonaguro at Siena and also spent four seasons as an assistant at his alma mater Rutgers. I have also heard that Fishburne head coach Ed Huckaby, Jr. will dip into the college ranks again and also hire former Hofstra graduate manager Steve Jecewiz. Before his time at Hofstra, Jecewiz served as a manager at Providence.
