Daily Dirt II – 6/19/14

Busy day – here’s round II of the Daily Dirt…

• It sounds like Alfred University (NY) head coach Dale Wellman will become the next head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. He had been at Alfred since 2008 and led his squad to an 18-9 record this past season. Before taking over at Alfred, he was an assistant to Dave Paulsen at Williams.

• I mentioned back in May that Jeff Horner was involved with a spot at North Dakota. I can now confirm that we will be named as the DBO on Brian Jones staff at UND. Horner is a former standout at Iowa where Jones was an assistant. I have heard this will be made official by the end of the week.

• Faulkner University (AL) assistant Jeremy Monceaux has departed and to accept the job as the head coach at Clay-Chalkville (AL) HS. Monceaux is the all-time leading scorer in Alabama HS history (4,555 points). He has been at Faulkner for the past three seasons, and also served as an assistant at Campbellsville (KY).

• I have heard that interviews started yesterday at John Jay (NY). It sounds like four candidates will be brought to campus. More on this one as I hear it.
