Multiple sources have said that former UCLA head coach Ben Howland has withdrawn his name from consideration at Oregon State. There are a ton of names flying around out there, but according to people who I have talked to, two legit candidates appear to be Arizona assistant Damon Stoudamire and Indiana associate head coach Steve McClain. Stoudamire is a Portland, Oregon native who was the 7th pick in the 1995 NBA Draft. He spent 13 seasons in the NBA and has also worked as an assistant at the University of Memphis and with the Grizzlies. McClain is the former head coach at Wyoming (1998-2007 – 157-115). He has also been the associate head coach at Colorado and won the 1994 NJCAA National Championship as the head coach at Hutchinson CC.
