Daily Dirt – 4/28/14

A few things to start the week…

• The search at Southern Mississippi is really heating up. I have heard that target #1 Brad Underwood met with Southern Mississippi officials this weekend in Texas. Another name starting to get some play (a plan B), is Murray State head coach Steve Prohm. It sounds like he may have met with Southern Mississippi officials as well. I’m betting that this search ends pretty quickly. More on this as I hear it.

• I have heard that new Tennessee Martin head coach Heath Schroyer will hire former Ohio assistant Anthony Stewart as his associate head coach. Stewart spent four seasons as an assistant to Schroyer when they were at Wyoming.

• It sounds like the College of Southern Idaho job has been offered to one of the candidates over the weekend. I have heard that the other candidates will be notified today if the position is accepted. We believe the finalists to be: James Miller (New Mexico JC Head Coach), Norm Parrish (Utah DBO), and Jared Phay (North Idaho College Head Coach).
