Daily Dirt – 4/25/14

Today’s"dirt"…

• I can confirm that Ole Miss assistant Al Pinkins will join Donnie Tyndall’s new staff at Tennessee. Pinkins had been on the Ole Miss staff since 2011, and spent eight years at Middle Tennessee before that. I’ve also heard that Tyndall’s entire staff will join him from Southern Mississippi. The biggest change will be that Jareem Dowling will move to an administrative role to accommodate Pinkins.

• Maine is in the very early stages of their search to replace Ted Woodward. I have heard a bunch of rumors up there – the one thing that I can confirm is that the salary will be pretty much the same as Woodward was making – around $100,000. This will eliminate just about every high major assistant, and most mid-major guys. I would expect some small college head coaches and well as America East and Northeast Conference assistants to be involved.

• I have heard that La Salle will promote from with-in as they replace Harris Adler (Auburn). It sounds like DBO Sean Neal will become an assistant, and video coordinator Matt Bloom will assume the DBO spot. Neal is a La Salle grad who has been on the staff for six seasons. Bloom has been on the staff for two seasons, and also worked in an administrative role at Rutgers.

• Two separate sources have told me that the Mercy (NY) job has been offered to Dr. Jody King. He is currently the head coach at Hostos (NY) College, and has been an assistant a bunch of NY area colleges. An official announcement is expected here shortly.

• In Wednesday’s dirt, I mentioned the Adelphi job (http://www.hoopdirt.com/blog/a8791856/daily-dirt-4-23-14/…). I proclaimed Stony Brook’s Dan Rickard as the leader…I’ve now got two sources telling me that Fordham’s David Duke could be the one to beat here. He and Adelphi AD Danny McCabe both worked at Hofstra in the mid-2000’s. I’ve heard the announcement here is imminent.
