Daily Dirt – 4/23/14

Another “vacation” edition of the Daily Dirt. Gotta go quickly before the DirtQueen discovers me…

• I have heard that Stony Brook assistant Dan Rickard is the leader at Adelphi, and could be named as the head coach there as early as tomorrow. Other names that I have heard surrounding this one are Fordham associate head coach David Duke, former Adelphi assistant Sean O’Connor, and Iona assistant Bill O’Keefe. It sounds like the announcement could come tomorrow.

• It sounds like Boston University assistant Carmen Maciariello will join the staff at George Washington. He had been an assistant at BU since 2011, and has also worked at Fairfield and Siena. I have heard that it’s a good bet that his replacement at BU will be former Boston College assistant Nat Graham. Graham spent four seasons at BC – he and BU head coach Joe Jones were both assistants at BC under Steve Donahue.

• Multiple sources have told me that USC staffer Dieter Horton will be the next head coach at Cal State Los Angeles. Before coming to USC in 2010, Horton spent four years at Antelope Valley College, where he went 98-46. He also spent ten seasons as the head coach at Fullerton College.

• I have heard the final two at the College of Southern Idaho are: James Miller (New Mexico JC Head Coach) and Jared Phay (North Idaho College Head Coach). No word on when the decision will be made.

I’ve got so much more stuff, but so little time….will get more up tomorrow.
