Daily Dirt – 4/21/14

The DirtKing is on a quick get-away with The DirtQueen and the Little DirtBags. Just got back from the pool – here a few things that I’ve heard (speedy edition, the DQ gets upset when I blog while on vacation)…

• I have heard that former Xavier player Dante Jackson is involved with one of the vacant assistant spots at Northern Kentucky. He is a 2011 Xavier grad.

• Multiple people have told me that La Salle assistant Harris Adler will join Bruce Pearl’s staff at Auburn. Adler, who has spent the past ten seasons at La Salle, was an assistant coach on Pearl’s Team USA staff at the Maccabiah Games in 2009.

• It sounds like two finalists for the Peru St (NE) job are Omaha Central Eric Behrens and former Iowa Wesleyan head coach Alan Magnani.

• I have heard that former Winona State Assistant Chris Gove is involved with an assistant spot at West Texas A&M. I’ve also heard that Winona State player and current Simpson College assistant Brandon Stromer may also be involved here. New head coach Tom Brown was a long-time Winona State assistant.

• Interesting one here…I have heard that Stan Holt has been hired as the head coach at Langston University (OK). He was hired by former USC AD (and current Langston AD) Mike Garrett – if you remember, Holt was the graduate manager at USC in 2010 who got a technical foul and was fired and then rehired by Kevin O’Neil (http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindducksbeat/2010/02/oregon_ba…).

• I apologize to those who may have emailed me in the past 48 hours. We are having technical issues with our HD email accounts. I have spoken to our tech guy (nerd), and he assures me we’ll be back up and running soon. In the meantime, feel free to text me at (208) 495-4129.
