Daily Dirt – 5/24/13

Friday’s "dirt"…

• I have heard that Tulane assistant is involved with the head coaching position at Bethel University (MN). Novak has been at Tulane for the past three seasons, and was an assistant at The Citadel before that. He has also been the head coach at Iowa Western CC and Anderson (SC). I have also heard that two high school coaches have interviewed for the job as well. It sounds like this will be wrapped up next week.

• I have now heard from two separate sources that Simpson (IA) assistant Brandon Stromer is involved with the opening at Indiana South Bend. Stromer is a former staffer under Keno Davis at Drake, and won a DII National Championship as a player at Winona State.

• It sounds like Jordan Jones has accepted an assistant coaching position at Chico State (CA). This past season Jordan worked under Head Coach Jim Les as the Video Coordinator at UC Davis. Prior to UC Davis Jordan played for two years at Treasure Valley Community College before finishing his career off at NAIA D1 Culver Stockton College.

• I have heard from a very good source that Philadelphia University assistant Shawn Werdt has accepted the head coaching job at Germatown Friends School in Philadelphia. Werdt had been at Philadelphia since 2008, and was a HS coach in the area before that.
