Today’s "dirt"…

• There has been a lot of movement on the staff at South Florida this off season. Earlier this spring, assistant coach Andy Hipsher departed to join his father’s staff at Texas Pan American. Also, assistant Eric Skeeters and DBO Reggie Hanson were not retained. Stan Heath hired Mike Wells yesterday (http://www.hoopdirt.com/news/d25291d2/wells-added-to-south-f…). I am now hearing the leader to fill the other assistant spot is former Georgia Southern head coach Charlton (C.Y.) Young. He went 29-65 in his four seasons at his alma mater. He has also been an assistant at Auburn, Georgia Tech, Chattanooga, and Northeastern.

• I have now heard from two separate sources (great sources by the way), that Davidson DBO Billy Thom is departing and will be the head coach at The Millbrook School (NY). Thom has spent the past two seasons as the DBO at Davidson, and was a manager there before that.

• Speaking of prep schools…I am hearing that Eastern Connecticut assistant Kris Johnson is the leader at Lawrence Academy (MA). Johnson has been on the staff of his alma mater since he graduated four years ago.
