According to a report by the New York Post, St. John’s is in the verge of hiring Mike Anderson as their new head basketball coach. Anderson, the former head coach at Arkansas, Missouri, and UAB, would replace Chris Mullin who resigned two weeks ago.
Anderson was released at Arkansas earlier this spring. He had spent the past eight seasons as the Razorbacks head coach, going 169-102 during his tenure. In 18 seasons as a DI head coach, he has compiled a 369–200 (.649) record.
He reportedly beat out Yale head coach James Jones and former Georgia Tech head coach (and NYC native) Paul Hewitt for the job.
More on this when it becomes official.
