Rick Duckett has been released as the head coach at Grambling State in the wake of the death of one of his players. Henry White died Aug. 26 in a Shreveport hospital, 11 days after reportedly suffering a heat-related illness during off-season conditioning drills under an assistant coach’s supervision. White’s family reportedly may sue the University, and there are several on-going investigations surrounding White’s death. Duckett was previously an assistant at South Carolina, and had been at Grambling for one season (6-23). He will be placed on administrative leave until his contract is officially terminated on October 31st. There is no immediate word on his successor.
